    Default LynneC 100 gallon

I finished setting up my new 100 gallon tank! YaY!

I had a stroke of good luck last night. I bought a DC pump 3 years ago for my 150 build and it didn't work right. It would start and then start flashing an error so the company sent me a new one and didn't want the broken one back. Me being a packrat, I kept it "for parts". I took it out of the box last night and started to fiddle with it. I noticed that the silicone bearing was not snug against the housing so I moved it a fraction of an inch then put it back together and it worked! So I don't need that DC pump I bought from Dennis yesterday! LOL.

I started working on the tops for my sump today. I finished the first one. This one goes over the filter socks. It turned out pretty good but I did get a small crack when I was drilling the hole for the bulkhead.

I bought thin acrylic. It bends easier.

I finished the skimmer compartment. I am going to use the skimmer compartment as a frag tank for a while. When I need to use a skimmer, I will cut a hole in the top.

I am thinking about doing tops for my tank but i am not sure how well this acrylic will hold up. Has anyone ever made tops for your tank out of acrylic?
