I heard they were in Waldorf now but did not know where. This is the store that was in Beltway Plaza in Greenbelt for years. Beltway Aquarium is what the store name was/is. I was told they had an issue with birds and was fined several times then they up and left. Not sure if this is all true or not. As you mentioned, the Greenbelt store only had freshwater fish, birds and rodents (aka hamsters) in the store when I was there last. That was at least 20yrs ago

I saw the store last night, it was closed. hours are 10am -6 pm. it is right next to BAM. the neon sign just says "Aquarium" and it is or was formerly Beltway aquarium. could not tell if there is saltwater fish in the store but saw "live fish boxes outside"

I have been there a couple of times to look around. They said that they are going to be bringing in some saltwater fish. They seem to stock a good amount of basic food and supplies. Last time I was there I picked up this O.B. cichlid.

This is a picture I took in the tank at the store. After spending a couple of weeks in quarantine he is doing well in my 90 gallon display tank. It is nice to have a place closer to home.

I went by the store today. They are still working on getting their fish department stocked. They ARE stocking saltwater fish and products. When I went in today they had not gotten their entire shipment of saltwater fish in. They stated it's due in on Monday. Right now they have six sections designated for saltwater fish. They will eventually have the entire row stocked with saltwater fish but they are not to that point yet. They are eventually going to be carrying corals and live rock. They have a saltwater specialists but apparently he will be in the store on Sundays at this point in time. They are carrying frozen fish food as well.

If you are into freshwater, they have some really nice Amazonian species. I was amazed at what they did have.

Here are some pics. I did make mention of our club and the next time I'm up there, I will drop of some business cards.

I got a chance to check it out today and met the owner. It's nice to have a mom and pop alternative!

Like the others have said he's going to start with some saltwater fish (he now has some clowns).

    Nice folks and clean tanks!
