The next SMMAS Reef Symposium will be Nov. 6, 2010. We have Randy Reed locked in as one of our 3 speakers for this next big show.

Unfortunately, we were unable to secure enough speakers for the March attempt and the BOD has decided to host our first official Frag Fest in lieu of a "make up" symposium. The event will occur April 24th at Danny and Tracy's place which some may remember was the location of the Christmas Party that got snowed out. Consulting the Farmers Almanac, we feel 82% certain that it will not snow for this event. More details to follow in the Announcement forum under a new post/thread.

It's a pretty cool party, with corals....

The BoD worked on the structure of the event last night so we still have some details to work out but the Reader Digest version is this.

We'll have all the same kind of food that we were going to do for the Christmas party (club buys the meats and drinks, everyone brings a side dish to share) and club members can brag about any great corals they are willing to trade/sell at the event on line prior to the event. Thus the name Frag Fest. In addition, the BoD has authorized a coral buy from Reef Chief (not to exceed $300) that will bring in a few nice colony's that we will frag up ahead of time to allow for healing and then sell them cheap (approximately $10 range) to club members. Sound like fun?

More info to follow in a new thread in the Meeting and Events forum.
